Tree Rope Access
2-Day Module
Tree rope access provides participants with training in the use of specialized equipment and techniques used in establishing overhead tie-in locations and the hardware, knots and hitches used to access the canopies of trees. It is different from our Tree Climbing, Fall Protection & Work Positioning course in that there is more focus on ascending and descending using various rope techniques, with less focus on lateral work positioning (limb walking) in a tree for the purpose of performing pruning or large scaffold removal. Focus is on using rope to access your work location, without spurs, while maintaining, and following safe work practices and legislation pertaining to fall protection. Educating participants in understanding the application of forces in various rope access systems such as; single rope technique (SRT) and doubled rope technique (DRT) configurations and the definition of specific rope terms, knots, hitches and hardware completes this very informative course.

Eligibility Recommendations: Eligibility Recommendations: This course is especially useful for biologists, seed collectors and researchers studying trees or the life that inhabits trees, as well as recreational tree climbers and anyone who climbs trees of a wide variety of sizes. Either first time climbers or experienced climbers will benefit from this program.
