Arboriculture Canada Training & Education Ltd. is proud to introduce you to Mark Cooke!
Mark has been working as an assistant instructor for several years in Ontario, and in the last two years has been lead instructing several of our training programs in Ontario and other provinces. If you have had the pleasure of learning from Mark, you’ll quickly appreciate his professional, but personable and approachable style.
Mark has been working in the arboriculture industry for 13 years. He works full time for Kelly’s Tree Care and has been instructing at Humber College since the year 2000 in the 1st year apprentices climbing class. Mark is an ISA Certified Arborist and has achieved all the Technician Certification designations from Arboriculture Canada (Tree Climbing, Chainsaw Operator, Rigger, Tree Risk Assessor, Rescue, Hazard & Danger Tree Faller). Mark has a unique ability in the skill of tree climbing, having competed in the Ontario TCC’s since 1999. He has won several medals for individual events and in 2008 he finished 2nd overall in Owen Sound, ON.
When asked what his favourite job is – Mark replied that it would be to dead wood a large oak in the beach area of Toronto. “There is nothing finer than being up 80 ft plus early in the morning looking out over the city and Lake Ontario before it gets too busy and alive. You realize how few people get to experience the city from that vantage point!”
Mark is also a husband to his wife, Andrea and a father to their sons, Liam (2.5 yrs) and Owen (10 months). Pretty soon, Mark and Andrea will be introducing their children to their hobbies of camping and skiing!
