John Ransom is an instructor and associate in charge of training sales & operations in eastern Canada with Arboriculture Canada Training & Education Ltd. He is a certified arborist, and the owner/operator of Lorax Tree Service. John has been the Ontario ISA tree climbing champion in 1998, 2001, 2002, and 2003, 2004 and 2005 representing this chapter at the ISA International Tree Climbing Competitions. He also sits on the ISA International Test Committee and is an instructor for arboriculture courses at Humber College in Ontario.

Two day EUSA (Electrical Utility Safety Association) Training in 1996 on Electrical Awareness
Completed the following ArborMaster Training modules: Climbing Skills Level I & II, Precision Felling Level I & II, Rigging Level I & II, Tree Dynamics & Structural Risk Assessment, Pruning, Cabling & Bracing, Emergency Response/Aerial Rescue.
Member of the Project Steering Committee for Arborists Exemption Test Item Development Project for Humber College.
Member, Certified Arborist and Certified Tree Worker Specialist and Evaluator with the ISA.
Member of the ISA Ontario chapter Tree Climbing Committee (TCC) – 2001 – present
6 time ISA Ontario Tree Climbing Champion.
Set up and safety inspection of gear at the ITCC in Baltimore, 2000 and Baltimore, 2001.
First Aid / CPR Certified
Employment history includes working for Bartlett Inc., ON and a major tree care service company including owning Lorax Tree Service.
Ranked in the top 7 at the ITCC (International Tree Climbing Championship) in 2002 and 2003.
