Utility Linemen - Hazard & Danger Tree Cutting for Power Restoration Number of days customized to meet requests This training program is designed specifically for power linemen who are emergency responders and need to deal with trees that have fallen onto power lines or other obstacles. Often risks associated with this environment are increased as they occur during or after a major storm event. Participants are taught chainsaw safety, cutting techniques and are educated in risk assessment and work plan strategies which focus on the risks the tree poses to the worker based on tree species, size, wood characteristics, variations and limitations. These strategies are designed to ensure worker safety through work planning, teamwork and specialty cutting techniques and equipment. Practical demonstration and hand’s on opportunities utilize various tools and equipment used to overcome tree-cutting difficulties such as snags, excessive lean, and high tension.
