A big part of our teaching culture at ArborCanada includes providing students practical hands-on learning experiences. This means instructor demonstrations, followed by participant practice and coaching.
Every course has unique circumstances surrounding the exact amount of time spend on practical skills, this can include accommodations for poor weather and other site limitations. However, lead instructors always prioritize as much as possible to get students hand-on practice.
In general, we aim for 20% theory / in-class and 80% practical in-field exercise and practice.
