2-Cycle Fuel

Why Use Gulf Fuels?

Gasoline is gasoline, or so you think.  You pour something into the tank, pull the starter cord, and  sooner or later the engine will come alive.

It’s not really that simple. There are a number of differences between alkylate petrol such as Gulf  Pro Fuels and the gasoline you get at the pump at a standard gas station.

The key difference is that alkylate fuel is an extra pure fuel form. Alkylate fuel is made of gaseous  hydrocarbons found in fossil fuels: these are a kind of vapor or gas that occurs when refining oil.  This process is called alkylation and involves combining excess gases from the distillation of crude  oil and from the cracking plant, resulting in a liquid alkylate. Some additional components are then  mixed in, resulting in the finished fuel.

This provides a fuel that is significantly purer than traditional gasoline.

All you need to do to tell the difference is open the container. If you compare engine parts which run  on conventional gasoline with those of an engine run on Gulf Pro Fuels, the difference will also be  clear to see. The engine run on alkylate fuel will be much cleaner, whilst the other engine will show  significantly higher levels of soot and deposits in many places.

Clean burn

If you pour a splash of conventional gasoline into a container, and the same amount of Gulf Pro  Fuels into another container, and then ignite both, the difference will also be clear to see. The flame  produced by the conventional gasoline will produce far more soot, whilst Gulf Pro Fuels burns  cleanly and brightly.

When the liquids have finished burning, the container that held the Gulf’s Pro Fuel will be clean,  whilst the one that contained the conventional gasoline will have been left with brown and black  residue and deposits.

One of the things that makes the difference is the ash residues in the oil, which contain carbon and  produce deposits.

Up to 99% more pure

The fact is that Gulf Pro Fuels contains up to 99% less harmful hydrocarbons than standard petrol.

Good for your engine

You’ll also be doing your engine a big favor. As Gulf Pro Fuel is so much purer, your engine will run  better when using this fuel. It will be easier to start and the engine will be far freer of soot thanks to  the clean combustion.

Gulf Pro Fuels are up to ten times more durable than standard gasoline, you don’t even need to  empty the tank when preparing for winter storage. And once the season arrives once more in the  spring, your engine will start up with greater ease.

We often receive the question, I’d like to switch to Gulf Pro Fuels, “Which fuel do I need?”

The reason this question is necessary is quite simple: different engines need different kinds of fuel.  Gulf Pro Fuels offers two separate products, Gulf Pro 4 and Gulf Pro 2.  Gulf Pro 4 is utilized in a 4 stroke application while Gulf Pro 2 is designed for a 2-stroke application.

There are a number of other important reasons these fuels shouldn’t be mixed at random. One such  reason is that Gulf Pro 2 contains the oil already mixed, precisely measured for your exact  application.  Many of the different two-stroke engines are designed to run on fuel, which a few  percent of the total volume is made up of oil, to act as a lubricant.

However, in four-stroke engines, the lubricant for the engine comes from a separate oil tank and  injection process. If you’re not sure whether your engine is a two-stroke or four-stroke model, check  whether there’s a separate oil sump or dipstick. If there is, you have a four-stroke engine, and so  should use Gulf Pro 4.
