About Me

Kyle Larden was born and raised in Williams Lake, BC and is very familiar with the forestry and logging industry, as well as WorkSafeBC regulations.  A rodeo athlete turned mountain biker, and a career faller in the logging industry, Kyle is drawn to any activity that involves the outdoors and great people.

Kyle's entire professional career has been spent with a chainsaw in his hands. Starting in the logging industry in 1994 limbing and bucking trees, he has since established his contract falling business, ‘Kylar Enterprises’ in 1997. From working in remote fly/boat only access logging camps to falling and faller supervision on BC wildfires, Kyle has enjoyed working in some of the most beautiful places in the country. With a decline in logging over the past few years, Kyle’s working hours are now divided into several different areas; production falling, wildfire faller/assessor, residential tree removal, utility tree work, and ACTE instructor. Ongoing education has provided Kyle with the opportunity to move the majority of his work into the arboriculture industry. Kyle is a Certified BC Faller and has previously completed courses including Worksafe BC's wildlife/danger tree assessor series, forestry and falling supervisor and BCTS (BC Timber Sales) management systems. Kyle has taken part in numerous Arboriculture Canada modules ranging from tree biology to technical rigging and has completed a two year apprenticeship to receive the designation as a Certified Utility Arborist.

His desire to share and acquire knowledge about current techniques and safety in the closely related industries of forestry and arboriculture lead to an invitation to take part in an Instructor Intensive Training Camp hosted by ACTE in January of 2012 in Elmhirst Resort, Ontario. Kyle has already had the tremendous privilege to travel across Canada to meet, instruct, learn, and share his time with hundreds of great "tree" people. Teaching is definitely a new found passion for Kyle and student comments and evaluations have provided proof of his gift for teaching and working with people.  His leadership in the classroom and his technical knowledge and skills make Kyle an excellent instructor.
