About Me

Neil is an lead instructor with a wide range of specialized expertise at Arboriculture Canada Training and Education. Neil spent the first 10 years of his working career as an aircraft maintenance engineer.  This led him to many interesting and very remote locations across Canada and to several locations abroad.  In 2013 Neil left the aviation industry to pursue business ownership in the field of construction and earth works.  Through installing wastewater treatment systems Neil quickly identified a need for land clearing and arboriculture services in his area which ultimately led to the decision to take a few courses from Arboriculture Canada.

After one of Neil’s first courses with Arboriculture Canada, he decided that he would like to participate in the teaching of some of the curriculum and in fall of 2019 he completed his Chainsaw Train the Trainer Intensive and quickly took an assistant teaching role with Arboriculture Canada.

Neil has a strong commitment to safety and training both personally and within his company and employs the skills he is now teaching every day.  He also has a very wide range of skills that he has acquired over his career and that leads to an ability to relate to a huge range of student groups.

Neil is a member of Canada Task Force 2.  This team is comprised of over 150 Rescue Specialists, Doctors, Paramedics, Structural Engineers, Communications Specialists, Canine and Technical Searchers, Logistics Specialists, and Command Staff, who volunteer their time to train and prepare so that they can respond as a highly specialized team, capable of handling a wide variety of demanding disaster and rescue situations.
