Danger Tree Assessor Qualification

Length

2 Day

Description

Danger Tree Assessor Qualification is a competency-based two-day program for workers and professionals who must recognize, assess, communicate and control danger-tree hazards in forest, park, conservation, wildfire, road, resource and related field operations.

The course integrates field-level job safety analysis with systematic tree inspection. Participants learn to evaluate how the planned work, disturbance and exposure, weather, terrain, stand conditions, tree species, structural defects and likely failure zone interact to affect worker safety. They practise identifying overhead, stem and root hazards; establishing striking-distance and no-work zones; selecting controls; documenting decisions; communicating limitations; and reassessing when conditions change.

Instruction combines focused classroom theory, instructor demonstrations, field assessments, operational case exercises and formal written and practical evaluation. The program emphasizes defensible decisions that protect workers, support habitat-sensitive management and allow work to proceed only when hazards are understood and effectively controlled.

Testimonials

I thoroughly enjoyed the Train the Trainer program. The information presented and the learning techniques were brought forward in a challenging, fun way. The course required us to step out of our comfort zone, but the rewards were fabulous. I would recommend this course for several reasons.

I learned about myself and the power of collective energy. I look forward to serving in this platoon but mostly I feel honored to have spent this past week with seven of the coolest trainers I've ever met.
